What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is part of traditional Eastern medicine that has been used for thousands of years. It involves using fine needles to insert at specific meridians along the body to release the flow of energy throughout. This promotes natural healing in the body to improve both physical and emotional health.
Is acupuncture safe?
Yes. Each acupuncture session uses sterile needles which are disposed after their single use. The needles are hair like thin and most people do not find any discomfort at all from receiving acupuncture. In fact, many of our patients find the treatments to be relaxing.

What conditions are treated with acupuncture at your Kearny Mesa acupuncture Office?
There are several symptoms and conditions that acupuncture is used for to help with pain management and natural healing. Neck pain, back pain, sciatica, fibromyalgia and migraines make up a short summary of a long list of health conditions that benefit from acupuncture. Our Kearny Mesa acupuncture professional, Jin Ah, LAc, will discuss with you what your health goals are and what your current condition may require in terms of acupuncture care.
How many acupuncture sessions will I need?
It varies. Depending on your condition and how well your body is responding to treatment, we will put together a wellness plan that works best for you. Often, patients need to schedule fewer sessions after the first few treatment sessions, so we will always monitor your progress along the way and make any adjustments as needed.
How long does each session last?
Again, the session time will vary depending on your condition. Some acupuncture treatments last 3045 minutes, while others may last as long as 2 hours. Upon your initial consultation with Jin Ah, LAc, she will assess what course of treatment is best for you.
